Linda Grossman

My name is Linda Grossman and I live in Rudgate Manor in Sterling Heights, Michigan. I have lived in my home for 36 years.  I chose to move into a manufactured home in 1991, purchasing a home as a young adult was out of my range. The community was a well-run, well-maintained community. Management offered a lot of programs for outside updates on your home.

Then Rudgate Manor was purchased by a big corporation. Soon rents were climbing. They went up 70% and they’re constantly adding fees.  The water bill was going up. There was a major water break in another city that affected our water quality.  And since this company took over, we developed a critter problem in the park… feral cats plus wild critters. This caused serious underbody damage to my home.

Since I was looking for people to listen to our story, I started getting involved in our city council primary.  We had a meeting with the candidates at our club house.  Boy did we give them an earful.  They knew nothing of what we were facing.  But boy have they stepped up, they are listening.  They are helping us work on our feral cat issues, speeding in the park, plus more. They will be back more often to talk and listen.  They realized we have the power of the vote!
