Vivian Mackenzie
My name is Vivian Mackenzie, and my wife and I live in River’s Edge in Clinton Township with our baby daughter. We have a cute little house, and I talk to the neighbors on both sides. I love the community and recommend manufactured housing to everyone I know. It is so much better than apartment living.
Tony Purdum
My name is Tony Purdum, and I’ve lived in Baltimore Terrace in Hastings, Michigan, for 7 years. I worked in concrete for 25 years with our family business before I injured my back and had to have surgery that left me disabled.
Todd & Renee Fye
We’re Todd and Renee Fye, and we live in Pine Ridge, in Argentine Township, MI. This was going to be our forever home, our retirement community. We projected what we could handle – with normal lot rent increases. Since Havenpark came in, expenses have doubled in 3 years. What about the next 3 years?
Gail Rinehart
My name is Gail Rinehart, and I live in Carriage Way MHC in Chesterfield, Michigan. I’m a licensed professional counselor, and I always wanted to live in a log cabin in the woods but could never afford it. I could afford a mobile home. I was looking at them and had decided that Carriage Way was too close to I-94 when I turned the corner, and there was my log cabin! I’ve been here 23 years.
Diane Hull
My name is Diane Hull, and I will have been living in Baltimore Terrace in Hastings, MI for 14 years this July. I live here with my disabled cat and three exotic birds, one of which is almost 52 years old! (Back in the day I ran an animal rescue.).
Carla Kinsey
My name is Carla Kinsey, and I have lived in Avon on the Lake in Rochester Hills, Michigan for 13 years. I spent a long time looking for my home because I’ve been fighting a terminal disease for 14 years, and I wanted it to be the place where I died.
Bobbi King
My name is Bobbi King, and I am a leader in a Mobile Home Resident Coalition. I live in a manufactured home community called Del Mar Estates. We really need help with the unaffordable lot rents in manufactured home communities.
Arthur Estrada Jr.
I’m Arthur Estrada Jr. from Skandia Mobile Country Club in Huntington Beach, CA. A month after I bought my home, the park was sold to Investment Property Group (IPG). Within a month, lot rent for all new residents skyrocketed.
Donna Lessard
My name is Donna Lessard, and I live in Whispering Pines Manufactured Home Community in Titusville, FL. I moved here because I could not keep up with the rising costs of rent in California after I had been deemed disabled.
Megan Vert
Before moving to Landmark Estates, my children and I were living with relatives. There were 13 of us living in a three-bedroom home, and I slept in the basement with my three kids. Not only was this move a good financial investment, but buying my home in Landmark Estates cut my commute in half and allowed me to spend a lot more time with my kids.
Kristina Steele
My name is Kristina Steele, and until recently I lived in Independence Woods in Clarkston with my husband and our two teenagers. We loved the quiet community, associating with our neighbors, and having all the kids come to our house to play. The problem was the owners, Kingsley Management.
Rick Smith
My name is Rick Smith, and I’ve lived in Lake Suzanne Mobile Home Park in Shiloh, IL for 17 years. My dad wasn’t doing so good, so I volunteered to come down here from Indiana and take care of him. After he died, I bought the place, fixed it up, and my son came to live with me.
Toccara Rogers
My name is Toccara Rogers and, until recently, I rented a mobile home at Lake Bradford Estates Mobile Home Park in Tallahassee, Florida. During the 7 months I lived there, I paid $1,250 in rent a month
Melanie Payne-Powell
My name is Melanie Payne-Powell and I live in Tallahassee, Florida, at Lake Bradford Estates Mobile Home Park. My husband and I moved into the park in 1989 because, as a multi-racial couple, we loved how diverse it was. It also had great amenities, like a pool, a gym, a sauna, a rec room, and a laundromat. We were renters at first, but when my husband passed away suddenly, I bought a home in the park with his death insurance.
Tiona DeShong
My name is Tiona DeShong and I live in Rapid Estates MHP in Lockport, NY. My family and I were living in a home when our landlord tried to evict us in the middle of the pandemic.
Samantha Tedesco
My name is Samantha Tedesco. My family and I moved into our community in February of 2019. Our youngest son was diagnosed with a gross motor deficit in March of 2020. He has to be closely monitored at all times. Cook Properties does not allow us to put any toys outside for him to play with and there are no public play areas for kids in the park.
Michael Papa
Hello, my name is Michael Papa. I live in The Woodlands in Lockport, NY, which is owned by Equity Lifestyle Properties. I purchased my home in August 2019. What once seemed like an affordable place to live has gotten unaffordable.
Jeanne Spontak
My name is Jeanne Spontak, and I’m from Candlestick Mobile Home Park in Newburgh, New York. I bought my home in March 2019, just months after Lakeshore purchased the property.
Gail Travers
I moved to my home in Akron, NY, in 2017 with my grandson, who had lost both of his parents (my daughter) to a car accident. We moved here because my son lives in Akron with his wife and son and I wanted to make my family whole once again.
Cindy Hoage
My name is Cindy Hoage, and I live in Galvin’s Mobile Home Park in Ontario, NY. KDM Management has been the owner as long as I’ve lived here. Before they bought us out, the previous owners paid for water and worked with residents if we were behind on rent that month. None of that happens anymore.
