I have been living with my girlfriend, Nancy, in Twin Pines, MHP, LLC, for approximately one year. I believe the community was recently sold to Blank Family Communities, but management won’t acknowledge that.
When we went to buy the home, we were told the plumbing, electrical and roof were all in good condition. After moving in, we discovered that electrical outlets didn’t work, the bathroom exhaust fan leaked when it rained, pipes under the kitchen sink had leaked for quite some time, the kitchen faucet was broken and leaking, there was no insulation on the crawl space plumbing which meant the pipes froze last winter, the walls have gaps and gorilla tape was used to cover the seams, and the dumpster is often overflowing.
Five months ago, the City of Warren came into the park on a code enforcement inspection and began tagging some units that were empty. They even tagged the office! They noted the bad roads and flooding.
The park has no amenities, no playground, or swimming pool. There is only one basketball hoop, and the kids play in the street. There is a small, unkempt laundry room, and the clubhouse is in disrepair and looks like a “Christmas in Hell”.
I am currently on SSI disability and have a very limited income. So when the management tried to come after me for legal bills on an eviction case that was dismissed, it was taxing, both physically and financially. I love feeding and caring for the cats in the neighborhood, and we don’t want to move, but we feel like we were sold a pile of crap and are forced to pay good money for the lack of support from management.
