My name is Rachel Caldwell. I moved to Sylvan Crossings in Chelsea, Michigan, earlier this year as I was going through a divorce. I had seen the park. It looked nice. It seemed affordable, and the home I bought has a garage and a basement– perfect space for the kids when they are with me.

My name is Cheryl Noldon. I’ve lived in Mission Bay Mobile Home Park in San Leandro, CA, since 2019. When I moved here, I was struck by the beauty of the community. It was well-maintained and a more affordable option for me.

My name is Elena Smith, and my sister and I rented a home in Lake Suzanne Mobile Home Park in Shiloh, Illinois in December of 2022. Homes of America had just bought the park, but we didn’t know anything about them. We just knew a few things didn’t work. But they said they would fix things, and it was what we could afford.

My name is Ann Premo. I moved into Alpine Mobile Home Village in 2009. Alpine was on my radar for quite some time because back then it was a beautifully kept and affordable community. When a lot opened up, I jumped on the opportunity and moved in. That all changed when Havenpark bought the park.

I have been living with my girlfriend, Nancy, in Twin Pines, MHP, LLC, for approximately one year. I believe the community was recently sold to Blank Family Communities, but management won’t acknowledge that.

My name is Jennifer Kutz, and I am now renting my third home in River Grove MHP in Berrien Springs in the last 2-1/2 years. Management had to move me out of the previous two because they were unlivable. This park is not a bad place. The people in here look out for each other. But we live in a very bad situation.

My name is Laurie McMann, and I’ve lived in Pinebrook Village, which is owned by Sun Communities, for about 20 years. I lost my husband of 44 years in October, but I still do a lot. I have neighbors in the park who are widowed. If they need help, I roll up my sleeves and help. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty.

I purchased my home in Northville Crossing (Washtenaw County) in 2014. Sun Corporation bought the community shortly after I moved in. Lot rent increases continued to accelerate while services dropped to almost nothing.

I am writing to express my support for Senate Bills 486-492 and Housing Bills 5157-5163.  My family has lived at Hillcrest Acres for 8 years. Hillcrest Acres is a Manufactured Housing Community owned by RHP Properties. Each year the standard of living goes down as our rent goes up.

My name is Deb Campbell. I live in a senior manufactured home community in Ionia County, Michigan. Since our park was bought, rents went up, and pet and garbage fees were tacked on. A lot of seniors don't have the income to account for these increases.

My name is Kitty Cole, and I have lived in Sherwood Forest in Ionia, Michigan for 30 years. I’ve done a lot. I owned and operated Kitty's Cafe on Main Street for fifteen years and a catering business for forty years. And I spent seven years as the park manager for this community. But when Cambio bought the community, I saw the writing on the wall, and I retired.

My name is Ray Miazga, and I’ve lived in Lincoln Park Mobile Home Park in Lincoln Park, Michigan for six years. On August 10^th I’ll be homeless. Homes of America is taking my home. I’ve got two dogs and a cat. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I almost want to cry.

Our names are Suzanne and Bruce Clevenger, and we’ve lived in River Springs MHP for seven years. We’re involved in our community, helping our neighbors get problems fixed, advocating with the village and the township, making sure kids in the community have food.

I moved into Capital Estates Mobile Home Park in 2018. In the beginning, I liked the friendliness and the affordability. The managers would always come. But now, it’s like living in a prison because of the manager and her abuse.

I moved into Capital Estates Mobile Home Park in July 2005. I was going through a divorce at the time, and the park was a place where I could afford to live. I soon came to realize that this park had a friendly atmosphere. Management and staff were friendly and going into the office was a pleasant experience.

My name is Eileen Posner, and I live in Whispering Pines, a manufactured home community in Titusville, FL. When I first moved here, I thought this was such a beautiful community. The neighborhood was gorgeous, and the neighbors were very friendly.

Hi, my name is Michael Marth, I’m 65 years old and disabled. I’m also a navy veteran. I bought my mobile home at Eaglecrest in Hamburg, NY back in 1996 with my loving wife at the time it was affordable.

My name is Maribeth Sheedy, and I am an MHAction Leader and the President of the Tenants’ Association for the Akron Mobile Home Park in Akron, NY.

My name is Andrea Crannell and I have been a resident of the Lorendale Mobile Home Park in Greenfield Center, NY, since 2006. I am 70-years-old and disabled after being hurt in 2 accidents. I bought my home which was the only affordable option I had because I am on a very low, fixed income.

My name is Ada Hand and I live in Del Mar Mobile Home Estates in Huntington Beach, CA. I moved here in 2015 because it was a more affordable option and seemed like a welcoming community.
